Owen Embree, senior and son of Nick and Jessica Embree, has been awarded Fine Arts Student of the Month for January 2024 due to his participation in choir.
Embree is involved in both jazz band and choir. He is the section leader for the percussion section in band and says that throughout his time in the fine arts, he has learned that persistence pays off. “If you want to do something cool, you have to work pretty hard.” Embree thinks more people should join the fine arts. “It really teaches you how to take responsibility for your own actions and figure out what you can handle,” he shared.
Fine Arts Student of the Month is a big honor for Embree because it means people in the future will be able to look up to him and his achievements. He thinks he was chosen for this award because of the significant impact he has had on the band and choir through his leadership roles.
In honor of his success, Lincoln Savings Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
