Fredrick “Will” Morain is the Student of the Month for May. He is a senior, and the sone of David and Erin Morain. Morain’s GPA is a 3.95. His favorite classes throughout high school have been Medical Interventions, because it prepared him for premed in college, AP Lang and Comp because Mrs. Basinger does a fantastic job preparing students for college, and it is both English and college based, and Film as Literature, because he really enjoys movies, and talking about movies, and getting to do that for school was really interesting. Morain has been involved in Cross Country (two years), and track (three years), and is a member of his church. These activities have taught him how to be a leader, and grown his spirituality, and connection to religion. Morain has volunteered at A-Heinz 57 throughout high school.
In the fall, Morain is attending Creighton University in Omaha, and will be on the Pre-Med track, with an undecided major. His advice to other students it to not be a jerk. “You don’t want to be remembered as the person who was so mean to everyone,” Morain said. “Really try to be friends with everyone, and be outgoing with everyone; people remember that stuff, they really do.”
To Morain, being named student of the month means a lot to be recognized. Morain tries his hardest in school, and to be a good person, and it means a lot to be recognized among the students and staff for this work.
In his honor, Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship foundation.
A note from Black and Redgister: Next year, the role of highlighting ADM’s students, athletes and teachers of the month will no longer belong to the Black and Redgister. In the 2026-27 school year and onwards, information on the various students, teachers, and athletes of the month will be able to be found on the Marquee on the road outside of the school, on Dallas County news, on the TVs in the High School commons, and in Principal Griebel’s parent newsletter each month.
