Senior Caleb Oelberg, son of Tony and Heather, has been chosen as October’s Fine Arts Student of the Month. Oelberg is involved in concert band, jazz band, marching band, pit orchestra and FFA. He is the section leader for the trombone section and has a solo in the 2023 marching band show, which won him the 1st place overall soloist award at a marching band competition in Fort Dodge.
Through his time in these activities, he has learned how to work as a team and lead others to success. Oelberg believes more people should be in band because it introduces you to new people and you get a lot of time to spend with existing friends.
Oelberg is honored to have received this award and thinks he earned it because of his persistence.
“I believe that throughout my high school career, I have become an overall better musician because I have had to step up and be placed in uncomfortable positions.”
To honor Oelberg, Lincoln Savings Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation in his name.
