Prom is approaching. Who is ready? Students Madelyn Cox and Lexi Austin share their thoughts, expectations, and how they have started to prepare for the upcoming night.

ADM’s Prom is approaching soon, and the students are getting excited for the dance. Juniors girls will be attending their very first prom. They may have heard rumors of what is to come but nothing is to be set in stone until they have actually experienced the dance themselves. For all, there are a lot of things to take care of. Dress, hair, nails, make-up, etc. The list goes on and on.

Prom is usually displayed in movies as a magical night filled with music and dance. Is that what we can expect? Or in reality is it just another school dance? We might as well ask the seniors, they have one prom already under their belt. How will they prepare this year? Any advice for the juniors?

Madelyn Cox is a junior at ADM. She will be attending Prom for the very first time this spring. She has heard stories about its happenings however there is not telling what her individual experience might be. “I’m excited but I’m also nervous.” Cox responded.  Unlike a vast majority of her classmates, Madelyn has yet to start the search for a dress, however she does not see a need for a big rush. “I haven’t gotten around to it yet.. I will get to it when I get to it.” Cox said, “I am not too worried yet.”

Lexi Austin is a Senior at ADM. Having already attended Prom last year, she is excited for another great night. “Prom was really fun last year…” Lexi said. Lexi and her friends have already started making plans for the night. Although no one has specific dates yet, a group of girls has already been formed. Together they will take pictures, eat dinner, and experience a night of fun. Not only has Lexi found her group, she has also started the search for a dress. Although she has yet to find the perfect one, she has made tremendous progress. When asked to give any advice to first time prom attendees, Lexi responded “Just have fun and stay out of trouble”.

Prom is a night to look forward to, it is a night to enjoy. Whether they are on top of your plans or just getting started, one thing is for sure.. every one is excited for the upcoming dance.
