During the times of quarantine, when students are unable to throw large parties, how do they celebrate their birthdays?

Celebrating her birthday, Briley Person turned 15 on April 28. She had lots of fun even with all the difficulties quarantine brings. “It was all still super fun!” said Person.

For many, quarantine has not been an easy time, with no school, sports, or activities, students spend most of their time at home. Now, with the many April birthdays, what have students done to celebrate?

Briley Person turned 15 on April 28th. In many birthdays past, she would often be playing in a softball tournament and celebrate with her teammates. Not a bad day according to softball lover Briley! This year however, softball has been canceled for the spring and therefore her birthday was spent away from her teammates. Instead she celebrated by watching movies, participated in outdoor activities and ordered take out from Buffalo Wild Wings. “It was different because we couldn’t go out to eat as a big family” said Person. “Both of my parents worked most of the day and my sister had school work to do.” Briley enjoyed seeing the many friends that stopped by to say hi or drop off gifts, especially after such a long break from seeing them at school. “I talked to each of them for awhile! It was really nice to see every one!” said Person.

According to Briley, this birthday might’ve been her favorite so far. “to be honest this birthday was just as great, if not better.” Although she loves softball, Briley thought that it was nice to stay at home with family and see every one who had stopped by.
