Hello, my name is Ella Jorgensen and I am a senior at ADM this year. This is my second year on staff, and I am so excited to be able to share stories. I decided to join journalism again because I enjoyed the experience last year and because of my love of writing. I learned so many valuable skills last year, and I am eager to keep discovering new things. In journalism this year, my goal is to learn more about different story formats. Last year I focused a lot on written form stories, so I would like to try more multimedia journalism. Another goal I have is to also learn skills that can extend beyond the walls of the newsroom and that I can take with me next year to college.

Austin Conner is the February Student Citizen of the Month. He is the son of Heidi and Jeremy Conner, and is a senior this year. Conner has received a coin given by Blue Kindness and the Adel Police Department that identifies many aspects of citizenship including: respect, responsibility, dependability, caring, honesty, and character. Conner believes he exemplifies those traits by “respecting other people and not interrupting teachers or class.” To him, being a Student Citizen of the Month is an honor. Conner believes he was selected because he does what he is told, and does not talk back to anyone.
