September Girls Cross Country Athlete of the Month: Evelyn Horgen

September+Girls+Cross+Country+Athlete+of+the+Month%3A+Evelyn+Horgen

Evelyn Horgen is the September Girls Cross Country Athlete of the Month. Horgen is the junior daughter of Anne and Nathan Horgen. Horgen has been running cross country since 7th grade. The thing she loves most about the sport is how supportive everyone is. She said, “It’s a friendly sport, and it’s more about beating your own time than anyone else.”

When asked what being named Athlete of the Month means to her, Horgen said, “It means I am an important part of the team and I can support others no matter how well you do.” She thinks she’s been given this title because she is always supporting people even if the times are not great. Horgen always makes sure to cheer on teammates.

In honor of her achievements, Adel TV and Appliance has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
