September 2023 Student of the Month: Makayla Crannell

September+2023+Student+of+the+Month%3A+Makayla+Crannell

The September 2023 Student of the Month is Makayla Crannell. Crannell is the senior daughter of Scott and Anne Crannell and currently holds a 4.10 weighted GPA. Throughout her high school career, she has been involved in various activities such as volleyball, softball, track, NHS, FCA and 4H.

When asked to talk about her favorite classes in high school Crannell listed Medical Intervention, Health and Biology. She claimed that these classes were her favorites due to the health sciences they teach. She is very interested in Human sciences and Health sciences as well as learning about nutrition. These classes fulfilled those interests. Due to her interests in these sciences, Crannell plans to major in Exercise Sciences and a minor in Kinesiology. Her college destination remains undecided for the moment but she is talking to various universities with the intent to continue her athletic career in track and field throughout her college career.

Prompted to give other advice about success in school or life Crannel responded by saying, “Take school seriously and work hard because it will pay off.”  She also said, “Try to be involved in as many things as you can be but don’t take it too seriously and don’t focus on your mistakes. Everyone makes them.” Crannell thinks that she has been honored with this title due to her constant hard work and positive attitude in all her activities and wa;lys putting forth her best effort. She is very honored to be named Student of the Month and feels glad that her hard work is being recognized.

In honor of her achievements, Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
