February Kiwanis Student of the Month
Kennedy Ihrig is the February Kiwanis Student of the Month. Ihrig is the daughter of Mike and Nicole Ihrig.
Ihrig has a GPA of 3.667 and her favorite three classes in high school have been Intro to Education, English II and AP Literature and Composition. She likes these classes because she loves English and reading and wants to be an English teacher.
At school she is involved in cheerleading, Academic Decathlon and Thespians. Through them, she has learned how to be a leader, and she has learned that teamwork is necessary to accomplish goals.
In her free time, she volunteers at her church and at ADM’s concession stands. Her goal is to receive a Humanitarian Cord at graduation.
Ihrig plans to attend college at Drake University and major in secondary education in English.
Ihrig’s advice to others about doing well in school is to avoid slacking off. She advised not getting discouraged because of just one bad grade because it doesn’t define who you are.
To Ihrig, being Kiwanis Student of the Month means her involvement counts for something. She believes she has been selected as Kiwanis Student because of her involvement in activities and because she always tries her best.

![Rhyan Miller is the April student of the month. Miller is the daughter of Charity and Rich Miller, and has maintained a 3.925 GPA. Her three favorite classes in high school have been drama as literature, Prostart II, and news journalism. Miller participates in cross country, theater, individual and large group speech, the prostart team, student council, NHS, silver cord, and track. She feels that her experiences in those activities have made her more extroverted, sharing that she is "not afraid of [her] own voice anymore." Miller plans to attend Winona State University to major in psychology and minor in political science. Her advice to others is to "Fake it 'till you make it." She feels she was selected as student of the month due to her increased active presence in the classroom. She is also thankful for the good parking spot. In honor of her achievements, Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.](https://blackandredgister.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/20260427_104331-600x450.jpg)
