Russel Braun has been awarded 2023’s October Teacher of the Month. He will be celebrating 23 years of teaching at the ADM School District this year and is excited to continue to watch the ADM band grow.
He said that being recognized is really exciting but at the end of the day it’s all about the students. “I really like it when students create music. They take the skills they have, and with some guidance, create something magical. When it clicks for them and they create this exciting moment, that really makes you feel something.”
He claims he is super pumped to watch the band continue to learn and improve this year and is extremely proud of all his students. “The students make this group so as I engage and push them they keep getting better and better,” he explained.
When asked what one of his favorite nominations was he said, “I think one of my favorites was ‘he always finds joy in his teaching and time to connect with all his students.’ I liked that one.” Braun continued by saying that he tries to make a good impact on his students and strives to show how important music is in our lives.
