May Golf Athlete of the Month: Easton Korell
Easton Korell, son of Melissa and Brad Korell, has been playing golf for “almost 16 years.”
Korell loves that the sport is so unpredictable. “It’s just never the same,” he said. “There are never two alike rounds.”
Korell believes that being Athlete of the Month shows the work he has put in this season and is standing out to his coaches.
When asked why he believes he has been honored with this title, he said, “I feel like I’ve just been a big part of the golf team this year, always putting in a lot of effort.”
Throughout the season, Korell had many accomplishments and favorite parts of the season. He stated that shooting a 33, two under par, at their first 9-hole meet was his best opening round, and winning the green jacket at the two-day Pella Dutch Masters tournament was his favorite memory from this season.
“We have a pretty easy post-season coming up and we’re looking forward to State,” Korell said. “Right now we have the low average in 3A, so we’re looking to put together a few good post-season rounds and hopefully break a couple of records. It’s a good time to do it.”
In recognition of his achievements, Patrick’s Restaurant has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.

![Rhyan Miller is the April student of the month. Miller is the daughter of Charity and Rich Miller, and has maintained a 3.925 GPA. Her three favorite classes in high school have been drama as literature, Prostart II, and news journalism. Miller participates in cross country, theater, individual and large group speech, the prostart team, student council, NHS, silver cord, and track. She feels that her experiences in those activities have made her more extroverted, sharing that she is "not afraid of [her] own voice anymore." Miller plans to attend Winona State University to major in psychology and minor in political science. Her advice to others is to "Fake it 'till you make it." She feels she was selected as student of the month due to her increased active presence in the classroom. She is also thankful for the good parking spot. In honor of her achievements, Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.](https://blackandredgister.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/20260427_104331-600x450.jpg)
