March Student of the Month: Sarah Denherder

Sarah Denherder is the Student of the Month for March, Sarah is the daughter of Steve and Julie Denherder. She has an outstanding 4.057 GPA and works hard in her classes as well as outside of school. Denherder’s favorite three classes have been Music Theory, English, and Choir because she loves music and enjoys reading. Activities she has been involved in include, Cross Country, Jazz Band, and Jazz Choir. These activities have taught her skills like confidence, team building, and stage presence. Denherder has also spent time volunteering at Meals for the Heartland. Sarah is planning to attend Iowa State University in the fall as a music major. Her advice to others about school and life is, “don’t procrastinate”. When asked what being a Student of the Month means to her she said, “It’s an honor to be recognized.” Denherder believes she has been honored with this title for all her hard work throughout high school.

![Rhyan Miller is the April student of the month. Miller is the daughter of Charity and Rich Miller, and has maintained a 3.925 GPA. Her three favorite classes in high school have been drama as literature, Prostart II, and news journalism. Miller participates in cross country, theater, individual and large group speech, the prostart team, student council, NHS, silver cord, and track. She feels that her experiences in those activities have made her more extroverted, sharing that she is "not afraid of [her] own voice anymore." Miller plans to attend Winona State University to major in psychology and minor in political science. Her advice to others is to "Fake it 'till you make it." She feels she was selected as student of the month due to her increased active presence in the classroom. She is also thankful for the good parking spot.
