March Kiwanis and Fine Arts Student of the Month: Grace Hatchitt

Grace Hatchitt, daughter of Melinda Huntoon and Christopher Hatchitt, has been honored as the Kiwanis and Fine Arts Student of the month.
Hatchitt is a Senior and has a GPA of 3.5. She is involved in Cross Country, news journalism, Speech, thespians, and theatre. In Speech, Hatchitt is involved in Improv, Readers Theatre, and individual Acting. Her favorite classes are News, AP Studio Art, and Prostart. Her advice to others is to, “put yourself out there, get involved, and give everything your all.” Hatchitt plans to attend Iowa State University next year. She plans to major in design and minor in illustration.
In recognition of Grace’s efforts, Kiwanis of Adel and Lincon savings bank have donated a combined $150 to the Adel Scholarship Foundation.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Adel DeSoto Minburn High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment, attend conferences, and cover our annual website hosting costs.



![Rhyan Miller is the April student of the month. Miller is the daughter of Charity and Rich Miller, and has maintained a 3.925 GPA. Her three favorite classes in high school have been drama as literature, Prostart II, and news journalism. Miller participates in cross country, theater, individual and large group speech, the prostart team, student council, NHS, silver cord, and track. She feels that her experiences in those activities have made her more extroverted, sharing that she is "not afraid of [her] own voice anymore." Miller plans to attend Winona State University to major in psychology and minor in political science. Her advice to others is to "Fake it 'till you make it." She feels she was selected as student of the month due to her increased active presence in the classroom. She is also thankful for the good parking spot.
