Logan poses as being honored as May’s Kiwanis Student of the Month.
Logan Crannell is the May Kiwanis Student of the Month. Crannell is the son of Brian and Abby Crannell. He has a GPA of roughly 3.8.
Crannell’s three favorite classes are math because he enjoys it, and once you understand it, it’s also fun. He also enjoys French because it’s unique and you don’t experience it a lot. Lastly, he enjoys PE because, “it’s a good brain break and it lets you be active during the day.”
He’s been involved in baseball all four years, and participated in basketball for three years. From these, he’s learned to be a better leader, and learns how others learn and he teaches others in a good way.
Crannell doesn’t volunteer often, but when he does it’s typically through First Christian Church.
He is planning on attending DMACC in the fall, and then transferring to Iowa State to major in finance/business.
Crannell’s advice to others about success is, “it doesn’t come easy, it takes extra work and you have to make sacrifices. But, you also need to have fun while doing it.”
Being Kiwanis Student of the Month means all the hard work paid off, and it wasn’t all for nothing according to Crannell. He believes he’s been honored because he approached it with a good attitude and took it as a learning opportunity.
In honor of his achievements, Kiwanis has donated $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Adel DeSoto Minburn High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment, attend conferences, and cover our annual website hosting costs.

![Rhyan Miller is the April student of the month. Miller is the daughter of Charity and Rich Miller, and has maintained a 3.925 GPA. Her three favorite classes in high school have been drama as literature, Prostart II, and news journalism. Miller participates in cross country, theater, individual and large group speech, the prostart team, student council, NHS, silver cord, and track. She feels that her experiences in those activities have made her more extroverted, sharing that she is "not afraid of [her] own voice anymore." Miller plans to attend Winona State University to major in psychology and minor in political science. Her advice to others is to "Fake it 'till you make it." She feels she was selected as student of the month due to her increased active presence in the classroom. She is also thankful for the good parking spot. In honor of her achievements, Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.](https://blackandredgister.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/20260427_104331-600x450.jpg)
