“I wanted to start cutting hair because my dad has always my cut hair ever since I was a baby. I wanted to learn how to cut my own hair. I have been cutting my own hair for two years now and I just started to cut others’ hair. I started cutting hair just this past May, but it really got serious this past month. I plan on going to college, but I am [unsure of what my major will be]. I will start to cut people’s hair at college, and that is where I will gain clientele. I will be getting my barber license as well in college. But as of right now, I do not need it because the state of Iowa doesn’t require it. After (or during) college my dream is to open my own shop.” – Cole Waddingham

![Rhyan Miller is the April student of the month. Miller is the daughter of Charity and Rich Miller, and has maintained a 3.925 GPA. Her three favorite classes in high school have been drama as literature, Prostart II, and news journalism. Miller participates in cross country, theater, individual and large group speech, the prostart team, student council, NHS, silver cord, and track. She feels that her experiences in those activities have made her more extroverted, sharing that she is "not afraid of [her] own voice anymore." Miller plans to attend Winona State University to major in psychology and minor in political science. Her advice to others is to "Fake it 'till you make it." She feels she was selected as student of the month due to her increased active presence in the classroom. She is also thankful for the good parking spot.
