The French language is recognized as one of the most romantic languages in the world, meaning it’s flow feels really good for the human brain Paris, located in France, is also called the “City of Love”, which means French . Not only is it considered the most romantic, but it’s also used within national government meetings, like the UN, EU and a few others. Here at ADM, we have one classroom and teacher who teaches French. Her name is Mrs. Rezek, although her title most used in class is “Madame”. She has been teaching French for 31 years as of 2025.
For many years, French has been chosen the least out of our other foreign language classes. This year we brought in our second Spanish teacher, where now we have more Spanish teachers than French teachers. In order for teachers to keep a class, there needs to be a good amount of people interested in the class to keep it. Something that keeps the class there, is that ADM does not require it, however ADM strongly recommends two years of a foreign language class.
Madame Rezek studied French in high school, then in college and did French for her minor. At first she didn’t know what language she wanted to learn, only that she wanted to study one. She really liked the French language a lot, so she chose it. During her classes, she traveled to Europe for the first time. She fell in love with the language, to the point where she decided to switch her French Minor, into a French Major.
Madame Rezek wishes that students at least study a language. She would want them to take French, however any language is okay. She loves teaching French and wants to continue it for at least another decade. She encourages students to become multilingual, as we as a society need more people who are multilingual in the community, and in the workplace.
Kylee Beemer is a Junior and a third year student learning French. Beemer believes that French is an easier class and language, but also one that is more interesting. She also believes that it’s fun to learn other languages, and she wants to learn more. She originally joined French because she wanted to go on the French trip that was taken in 2024. She also really enjoys the French culture more than the other languages we at ADM teach. She wants to continue into French four into her Senior year, where she will take the Seal of Biliteracy test.
The Seal of Biliteracy test is usually granted to school districts to test their students to see if they are proficient in two or more languages, as long as they are taking a foreign language class. Usually it will be shown on your transcript or diploma once taken and passed.
Every couple of years, the foreign language teachers plan their own trip to the country of origin for their language. French students will mostly go to France, however last year they changed it up and instead landed in Spain, then they made their way to France. This next trip planned is going to follow mostly the same trip that was taken last year, but now in conjunction with the Spanish class.
