Aubrey Winter is a 12th grade student who has volunteered throughout her entire 4 years of highschool.

April 2024 Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month is Aubrey Winter, the daughter of Amy and Kelly Winter. Winter is a senior who has maintained a GPA of 3.96 throughout her high school career while being involved in various activities such as basketball, softball, golf, NHS, choir, and musical productions. There, she has learned how to interact and make friends in several social settings which has prepared her for college. Winter plans on attending the University of Iowa in the fall with a major in therapeutic recreation.

Winter claims one of her favorite classes in high school has been Medical Intervention due to the close connections she made to her field of study and the interesting medical terminology she learned. Secondly, choir has been one of her favorite classes due to the different atmosphere and its many fun aspects. Lastly, AP Language has been enjoyable due to the difficulty of the class and the interesting writing assignments. Additionally, Winter talked about her favorite places to volunteer while completing her hours.

“I volunteered a lot at my church through leading VBS and youth nights. I also did a lot of work at my mom’s school by working with little kids and helping out that way.”

Winter is very honored to be receiving this title and claims that it feels good to be recognized for all the hard work she has put in the past 4 years in both school and her silver cord hours.
