March 2024 Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month: Owen Embree

March+2024+Kiwanis+Humanitarian+Student+of+the+Month%3A+Owen+Embree

Owen Embree is the March 2024 Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month. He is the son of Nick and Jessica Embree and is a senior here at ADM High School with a GPA of 3.9.

Embree’s three favorite classes throughout high school were band, business and his PLTW classes, specifically Intro to Engineering. The main reason behind his love for these classes is the teachers and the learning environment they provided through the years. He has been involved in several activities throughout his high school career such as jazz band & choir and was also in the pit for numerous plays. He feels that he has learned a lot from these activities. He said the main thing he gained was his ability to be accountable and work really hard with anyone and everyone.

ADM High School is not the only place Embree pours his time into. He also volunteers at Meals from the Heartland, Camp Invention and “Egging” – an event that helps give kids Easter eggs on Easter. When Embree was asked what advice he would give to others about success, he said “Don’t be afraid to do hard things. If you don’t prioritize anything, you will not get anywhere. Always be sure to take challenges as a positive thing.”

Embree feels he was recognized this month because he stood out and is involved in a variety of things in the community. His future plans consist of attending Iowa State University to study mechanical engineering.
