Working on the Friday flash, I learned how to have fun and still use journalistic methods.

As I sit down to write this, I do not know where to begin. Being a part of this staff is something that I will cherish forever. Through journalism, I have made many amazing memories. I have created strong friendships. I have discovered my passion for political photography. I have been found sitting sidelines at any sporting event you can think of. I have harassed countless kids in the halls. I have laughed and I have cried in the newsroom. Being in journalism, I have found my voice.

The memories and the relationships I have made are ones that will shape me forever. That being said, here are the last affirmations to my staff, to the people I consider amazing friends.

Doc: I really enjoy your personality. You are such a fun dude, and your movie reviews are so enjoyable to read. Never stop being you!

Haley: You are one of the most passionate people I know, and don’t take that with a grain of salt. You have such a fiery personality, and I truly believe you are going to make a difference in this world. I have enjoyed getting to know you and I’m excited to see how your journalism skills keep growing.

Lauren: I have loved getting to know you! You have such a huge heart and you always put a smile on my face. You are such a good friend and I know that if I needed help, you would be there for me. No one can ever match your fire, and I know you are going to do big things.

Teck: I have really enjoyed getting to work and know you over the past two years. This news staff would not be the same without you. You are incredibly kind, and you are going to change the lives of so many kids.

Callie: You are such an energetic person, and you bring positive energy everywhere you go. You are an amazing friend and I know you would do anything you can to help the people you care about. I can’t wait to make new memories with you.

Christine: You are such a wonderful person. I love you to death, and I will always be here for you no matter what. I can’t put it into words how much I care for you. You are going to do amazing things, and I will be smiling with you every step of the way.

Brooklyn: Getting to know you have been something I will cherish forever. You are so energetic, and I can’t put into words how much I love you.. You always make me smile, and I enjoy all the time I spend with your goofy self. You will always have a friend in me.

Sean: I have really enjoyed getting to know you more this past year. You’re a great friend. I’m excited to see what the future holds for you. Never apologize for being yourself.

Kashish: I am so honored to be your friend. You are the most amazing person I have ever met. You are so beautiful, inside and out. You will always be one of my closest friends. I love you to death, and you are going to do amazing things.

Mrs. Basinger: You have been a mentor for me in every way possible. You have shaped me into the person I am today. I can never pay you back for all you have done for me. Thank you for all you have done for me.

As I write the last words of this story, I am having a hard time finding the words. There is so much I want to say, so much I want to do to thank those who have helped me become who I am. To thank journalism for giving me a safe space during my high school years. For helping me find my passion. For giving me a purpose.
