Senior Phillip Annear has been named March’s Student of the Month (SOTM). He currently participates in various activities, including concert band (trumpet), jazz band, marching band, pep band, NHS, and the Technology Student Association (TSA). While being so heavily involved with the school, he’s learned how to manage all his activities while still having fun. The son of Marina and Ron Annear, Phillip says his favorite classes right now are band, French, and AP chem because he gets to do music, study a world language while in high school, and get started on a field he is interested in as his career. With a weighted GPA of 4.188 and an unweighted of a 4.0, Phillip has pending college applications at many achieved IV leagues including Yale, Brown, Princeton, Cornell, and Harvard. He plans on majoring in Chemistry, with hopes of going into inorganic chemistry and possibly minoring in music.

If Phillip could give one piece of advice to other students, it would be “don’t worry about your grades because in the end school is about teaching responsibility.” Being SOTM is huge for Phillip — “it’s an honor for me because I never actually thought I’d be voted in as one.”

$100 has been donated in Phillip’s honor to the ADM Scholarship Foundation by Raccoon Valley Bank.
