Aniston Smith, daughter of Ryan and Stephanie Smith, has been honored as the December Girls’ Basketball Player of the Month.

She has been playing basketball since the 4th grade. However, she only started playing for ADM when she was in 8th grade and has played every year since. Aniston says what she loves most about basketball is, “It’s a team sport and you can’t win with just one person.” For Aniston, being honored as the Basketball Player of the Month means that she is appreciated by her teammates and spectators, which means a lot to her.

We asked teammate and fellow Senior, Julia Case, to describe Aniston as a teammate. Julia said, “She gets after every one to do their best and is willing to teach people when they are doing something wrong, she’s a good team leader and you can always count on her to give it her all.”

Aniston’s hard work is evident when you talk to her coach. ADM Head Girls Basketball Coach, Jacob Cleveland, had this to say about Aniston (AJ), “AJ is a captain of the basketball team. She is a leader on and off the court. She helps the team get focused, leads our breakdowns, is our best defender, and is essential in the flow of our offense. She gives suggestions on strategy and is a coach on the court. She is a great teammate and is selfless.”

Congratulations to Aniston on a successful basketball career at ADM and for being named as the December Girls’ Basketball Player of the Month.
In honor of her achievements, Azalea Lane Boutique has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
