Last summer, when I heard about a Five Guys coming to West Des Moines I was more than pumped up. I’ve been planning on going to the opening day for quite some time. When it officially opened on November 7, my friends and I made the trip to Jordan Creek, where it is located on South 64th Street just north of Mills Civic Parkway.

I had never eaten at a Five Guys, but I had heard the name and knew what it was about.

We got there and had to wait in a decently long line (which was expected since it was the opening day). The menu was pretty pricey but you got the bang for your buck. You order your hamburger, which by default is a double. Then you order whatever toppings you want on it which has no additional cost.

When I finally got my hamburger with grilled onions and mushrooms on it, I was excited to dig in. It was easily top three on my All-Time Best Burgers list. The burger was no ordinary fast food burger and I highly recommend making a trip to West Des Moines to try it out. I believe you won’t be disappointed.
