Sydney Canney – February Kiwanis Student of the Month

Sydney Canney, daughter of Tim and Kristy Canney, is one of February’s Kiwanis Students of the Month. Sydney has a 3.8 GPA and her favorite three classes are AP Language, News Journalism and Spanish.

Canney is involved in Student Council, FCA, NHS and soccer. In these activities, she learned how to take charge, communicate with others, persevere, and always work hard. Sydney also volunteers at her church’s VBS, the local food bank, mission trips, and Meals for the Heartland.

Sydney plans on attending Central and majoring in communications, all while playing on the soccer team.

When asked for advice about how she has had success in her life, Canney said, “Just be open to any opportunities that come your way.”

Being a Kiwanis Student of the Month means to Sydney that she’s being appreciated because of her hard work and effort.

In recognition of Sydney’s achievements, Kiwanis has donated $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
