Abby Embree- January’s Wrestling Cheerleader of the Month

Abby Embree, a sophomore at ADM, was selected as January’s Wrestling Cheerleader of the Month. Abby is the daughter of Nick and Jessica Embree.

She is on her 4th year of Cheerleading in general and her 3rd as a Wrestling Cheerleader.

Abby says she prefers Wrestling Cheerleading over Football Cheerleading because Wrestling Cheer is more personal in her opinion. “Wrestling Cheer is my favorite for two reasons. 1) it is smaller, which makes it feel more personal and 2) you can see everything that is going on in the sport- with football cheer, we are facing the bleachers and not the players themselves.”

When asked what being an Athlete of the Month meant to her, Abby replied with, ” It means i’m representing my sport and my school well. It means you’re doing well and being a good sport.”

Abby is not sure why she was selected as this month’s athlete but she says she is very thankful for it and is happy she has stood out to others.

In honor of Abby’s accomplishments and efforts, Fareway has donated $100 towards the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
