Kim Lockard – Kiwanis Student of the Month

Kim Lockard, child of Lora and John Lockard, is one of two awarded Kiwanis Student of the Month.  Kim maintains a 4.037 GPA, and her three favorite classes are band, biology, and english.

Kim is a well rounded student, she participates in band, choir, drama, speech, ACDEC, NHS, and debate club.  Throughout her experiences in her extracurriculars, she has learned to be confident, a substantial part of her community, open minded, and to speak out.

She volunteers at Aheinz 57, and plans on attending Iowa State University for pre-veterinary education.

When asked about what advice she’d give for success in school or life she simply replied, “Do what makes you happy.”

While being unsure what Kiwanis Student of the Month means to her, she believes that she was honored for it because she has been, “an influential person and a leader and people recognized that.”
