Taking in the bitter-sweet moment, the Tigers crowd around their quarter-finals award.

The 2023 ADM Tigers football team was led by an Iowa Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame coach, Randy Schrader. Schrader served as an interim for the Tigers, so the search is now open for a new head coach to continue leading the team to success.

ADM’s Activities Director, Rod Wiebers, spoke on the steps of finding a new coach. “We will go through a process, that process will start real soon. Then basically we’ll go through and identify a timeline of when we will post the job and start hiring,” he said.

Wiebers said that he looks for a variety of things when considering a new coach. He reaches out to athletes of that sport and has them decide on important qualities they want their mentor to have. “Ultimately they’re the ones who get to play for our head coach,” Wiebers stated.

The candidate must also be in line with the district’s core values, which are humble, hungry and smart.

“We want a coach that cares for our kids and is going to make great connections with our community and also somebody that is an advocate for students in multiple activities,” Wiebers said.

The position posting is set to come out in December and the process will move from there.
