Building Futures

For all high school students, the choice of which career path to follow is a huge choice. The staff at ADM HS does everything they can to make that choice as simple and as clear as possible. For many, the choice of following a career in construction is a very real possibility.

Students here interested in construction were taken by Tammie Seaholm to the Construction Careers and Education Expo. At this event, all of the students met with 12 different groups of workers such as carpenters, electricians, metal workers and more. These groups were set up in stations and at these stations the students were about to have hands on experience with what that job title entails.

At the stations, students were able to work with virtual of=50,360,480painting and welding. They were also given the opportunity to operate machines that would be used in the field such as jackhammers, backhoes and even a crane.

This trip was very eye opening to those who went as it gave them more insight into what they may be doing once outside of high school. Through this expedition they were able to gain knowledge and experience, and build relationships with workers who they may possibly be working for in the future.
