Tools To Help You With Your Confidence

Sometimes we all just need a little boost of confidence but we aren’t sure what we can do. I sent out a survey to see what gives our fellow classmates confidence and listed below are the results.

Friends can be a great source to boost your confidence. Your friends are the people you are most comfortable with. They’re the ones that understand you the most and who you can be real with, too. Often times looking to our friends after a long, disheartening day is a great way to regain your mojo.

Compliments are another great source of regaining or boosting your confidence. It’s always nice to hear someone compliment your outfit or just you in general. Compliments are great confident boosters. Think about the time when you received a favorite compliment from someone–How did that make you feel? It’s always delightful to receive a compliment, especially if you’ve been having a rough day.

Music is another way you can amplify your confidence. Like friends, listening to your style of music can help you become comfortable again and can ultimately help you start feeling more confident in the person that you are. Listening to music is a great way to relax and regroup.

Feeling supported by those you care about most is important in all aspects of life but it is also important when it comes to your level of self-confidence. When you feel supported you are less likely to be afraid to fail. You already know that you are going to have support if you fall, so it can give you the boost you need to get where you want to be. Feeling support from those around you not only can help your self-confidence but will also help solidify your confidence in the relationships in your life.

Like feeling supported, being good at a sport or hobby you love is a great confidence booster. Being good at a sport that you put a lot of time and energy into is a great way to keep your confidence levels high. We’ve all been there where we have just started the sport/hobby and it’s not going so well. Maybe you weren’t placed as high as you expected, which can really effect your mood and can play a big part in your confidence.

Receiving a positive affirmation is very similar to receiving a compliment, but instead of someone complimenting your appearance, they are complimenting you. Receiving an affirmation is a really great feeling. Not only is someone complimenting you but you also are getting the reassurance that they take the time to get to know you and care about you. It’s always a very uplifting moment and it’s not only special to you but it also helps boost your confidence.

Seeing the results of something you’ve worked so hard for is a great way to gain confidence. Often times we lose motivation to set big goals for ourselves because the work to reach that goal can become too much to handle. Taking a step back and focusing on the progression and results is a great way to regain your confidence and fix your mindset.

Being recognized for the things you’ve accomplished can help to remind you of your strengths. When we are given recognition for the hard work we’ve put into certain things it’s a great way to motivate us into being more active and set more or bigger goals. Being recognized for your achievements is a great way to prove that your hard work really does pay off.

Competing with others is always a great way to gain confidence. When in a heavy tournament for a sport you participate in it’s always a confidence booster when you win. It’s a great feeling when you and your team end up winning a hard game or tournament that you worked very hard in.

Dressing formally or fancy can be a great way to boost your self-confidence. Sometimes we just need a good dress-up day to get out of a funk we’ve been in. When we have lots of long, hard days we like to dress comfy, but sometimes we just need a nice dressy outfit to help us start feeling confident again.

Good grades are small confidence boosters but always nice ones. It’s always nice when you get a good grade on a test you studied so hard for. Sometimes it just comes easy but when you get good grades on a harder test that you weren’t feeling very sure of it’s a great way to get you to feel good. It’s always nice when you pull up Infinite Campus and find that the test you were stressing out about you actually did really well on.

Getting your hair done can be another small way to gain confidence. Just like working out, sometimes working on our outside appearance can help us gain self-confidence. Many people often struggle with their appearance, because oftentimes we compare ourselves to others around us and end up with low self-confidence

Working out, similar to getting your hair done, is another way to gain confidence about your appearance. We sometimes wish to change our appearance or alter it in small ways and by working out many of us can achieve the image we had always wished for. Working out is a great way to boost your confidence and make you feel better about your appearance which, in turn, makes you feel better about yourself.

Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can be very promising, especially when it ends up working out in your favor. It can be a very hard thing to push yourself outside of your comfort zone because you don’t know what will end up happening. The majority of the time pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone can lead to a great payoff.

Completing homework on time is a confidence booster to some but not to others. For some, it’s a great weight being lifted off when the homework is turned in, but many love turning in their homework as soon as possible because then they have time for other things and aren’t worrying about what assignment is considered missing. For some or for many turning in their homework on time is a great confidence booster.

My hope for those who read this article is that you find a way to help regain your confidence that you may have been missing for a while or just try one of the things I listed above as a way to regain your confidence after a long day.
