Akascia Watson, daughter of Natasha and Edward Watson, is December’s Dancer of the Month. She attends Van Meter High School but participates in ADM’s dance team. While participating in dance, Watson has learned “what a true team feels like. I have learned how to grow and how to mess up over and over, but turn up with a positive outcome.” Akascia says that she spends hours working and practicing at her church’s gym, and it means a lot that her hard work and growth is recognized.

Compared to most members on the team, she hasn’t participated in dance for very long but mentioned “with the help from our coach and the girls I was able to progress.” Watson recommends dance and says that “if you want a place where people are there for you on an emotional level while also knowing what it will take to push you to be the best dancer you can be then dance team is a great place.”

$100 has been donated to the ADM Scholarship Foundation by Core Physical Therapy in honor of her achievements.
