Are you stressed about finals? Need some study tips? Heres a helpful list of tips to get you through finals week.

  1. Organize your studying space – To organize your study space, start by picking a comfortable spot to sit with all your review materials in front of you. Next, organize your materials by each class and only have out what you need for each class. When you are studying, flashcards can be a helpful tool to stay organized.
  2. Snack on brain food – Snack on foods such as Broccoli, mixed nuts, dark chocolate, berries, green tea, tomatoes, and eggs. These are good foods to help a healthy brain.
  3. Take regular breaks – Trying to cram all of your studying into one session can be tiring. so, in order to have a better study session take breaks every 1-2 hours for about 5-15 minutes. To stay productive during these breaks, avoid picking up your phone and scrolling through social media, instead have a snack or take a quick walk.
  4. Review and revise – When you are studying hard, don’t forget to go back and look over materials you have already covered to get the information better stuck in your head.
  5. Plan study time – In order to have a good study session, planning time in the day to study is a great idea to be more successful. Avoid trying to study late at night, instead plan time right after school between 4 and 7 pm. To be even more productive, try getting up before school and studying.
  6. Write it down – Write down your study material instead of looking at a screen. If you write your information down, you are more likely to remember the material.
  7. Quiz yourself/study with friends – If you get bored of studying by yourself, call your friends to help you study, and quiz each other.
  8. Listen to calm music – when you are studying, avoid distracting music such as the songs you listen to the most in the day. Instead, try and listen to calm music such as classical genres or oldies. Music is good for helping your brain focus, especially if you pick the right music to listen to.

Happy studying!
