Pumpkin Spice Latte

“A nice, warm cup of coffee would perfectly suit my life now” is what I thought on chilly Sunday morning, getting out of the car, wrapped in my coat and heading to Starbucks.

Let me admit, I’m actually not a coffee lover. I’m that type of person that can drink literally any kind of it as long as it’s sweet or as long as it tastes good when you dunk double-stuffed Oreos in it.

So the reason why I was heading to Starbucks that day was not actually needing coffee, but needing to be in some warm place for some time without feeling uncomfortable because of not buying anything.

“Pumpkin Spice Latte”–said the sign. “Sugar, caffeine, warmth. We NEED that”–responded my brain. I ordered the biggest cup I could.

First, it smells like cinnamon and pumpkin. Starbucks’ website reassured me that it also has the flavor of nutmeg and clove, but my ordinary nose didn’t smell anything like that.

It looks pretty nice. If I stopped thinking about a full cup of warmth in my hands and actually paid attention to its appearance (which I actually did a couple of sips later), I would notice it being accurately packed and having some seasoning on the top. Although, after drinking it’s hard to tell how it looked at the beginning.

It tastes like coffee. Pumpkin-flavored coffee. I hope I didn’t surprise you too much. The difference between it and usual latte is a tangible pumpkin flavor. Although I’m not a pumpkin lover, everything came together well and it tasted pretty good to me.
