Cody Smith – March Teacher of the Month
Cody Smith is one of two March Teachers of the Month. He was nominated by Audrey Reynolds because he is helpful whenever students have questions.
He’s been a teacher for three years and two of them at ADM. He decided to become a teacher because “I feel that I get to make a positive influence on the next generation of leaders’ lives–might sound kinda cheesy but it’s a real thing.”
He decided to teach science because, “I was actually a geology major at UNI, and I didn’t like the field work after I got into it, and my roommate [was going to teach math] and I had all these Earth Science credits under my belt already so I just switched over to teaching and it worked out.”
Mr. Smith is excited that he was nominated because he wants kids to succeed and is glad that they realize that and come in for help like Audrey.
