Tyrone Williams – January Kiwanis Student of the Month
Tyrone Williams is one of two students awarded Kiwanis Student of the Month. Tyrone is the son of Tyrone, Sr and Heather Williams. Tyrone maintains a 3.82 GPA.
Tyrone’s favorite three classes are AP Calculus, Psychology and Dynamic Web Design. He likes the teachers in these classes, and enjoys the exposure to topics that he will undoubtedly encounter in the future. Speaking of the future, he is going to attend ISU and major in Computer Engineering–he’s already been accepted.
After school, he is involved in cross country, backstage, Academic Decathlon and Hyperstream. When asked what he has learned from these activities, he replied, “You get out what you put in, the more work, the better the result.” He advises students to, “enjoy it while it lasts, but don’t take things too seriously–just have fun.” Beyond school-sponsored activities, he also volunteers at the concession stands and has also done Meals from the Heartland multiple times.
Being Kiwanis Student of the Month, to him, means that people are noticing how hard he tries. “I’m active in extracurriculars, and I also have a job–which takes time management skills to balance those. I’m not very good at [time management] but I seem to be doing alright.”
In recognition of his achievements, Kiwanis of Adel has donated $50 to the ADM Scholarship Fund.
