Two Losses for the Tigers Make Hopes Seem Scary
After last Friday’s comeback win, the Tigers had 4 games left in the regular season. It is very important that they got things rolling before district play. Tuesday, February 7th the Tigers traveled to Carlisle for their second last conference game. Conference champions were a bit out of reach for ADM but that doesn’t mean that they are going to just give in. When I was talking to Matthew Larson about finding motivation to keep going he replied. “It’s tough to find a second wind and finish out the season, but as a team we have to keep grinding because the season isn’t over yet.”
During the game things were looking promising for the Tigers as they got off to an early lead but the season long struggles started to set in as they were playing poor defense and struggling to box out. The only person keeping them in the game during the first half was Tajen Ross finishing the first half with 25 points as the tigers trailed 37-39
The second half as even more of a struggle as Ross was getting face guarded and double teamed most of the second half. Tajen Finished with 33. The ADM needed someone to step up Payton Conrad stepped up for them. Conrad finished with 22 and most of his points were in the second half when Ross as getting double teamed. The game ended with the tigers on the downside of the scoreboard, 70-84. With the end of the regular season coming up the Tigers need to find their offense. Only 5 people had points and 2 of them combined for 55 of the team’s 70 points. As far as defense goes, they have proven that they can play good shutdown basketball.
The Tigers Also played Friday February 10th, I didn’t make it to the game but ADM fell 46-60 against the conference champions Boone. The Tigers look to close out the regular season next week and Norwalk on Tuesday, then home Thursday against Newton.
