ADM Stays Hot with Win Over Ballard
On Friday January 20, the Tigers traveled to Huxley to take on the Ballard Bombers. ADM is only 7-5 on the season but with their last two wins over two really tough teams, the Tigers looks really strong. On the other side, Ballard is 4-8 but has proven to be able to play very well in some games this season. Ballard is also looking for some revenge as they fell to the Tigers earlier in the season. The Tigers will be looking to continue their recent defensive executions. Tajen Ross has been averaging just under 25 points a game. The best part about this for the Tigers is that it also opens up huge roles for other players. Just like recent games, the Tigers look to continue to stay hot.
Right off the gates ADM came out firing on both ends of the court. Jumping off to an early start with both Tajen Ross and Matthew Larson hitting early three pointer to get the Tigers off to a great start. The Tigers looked to be in control for all of the game getting up by as much as 15 early in the first half. The Tigers were getting lots of steals early in the game and while the Bombers were throwing the ball away a lot the Tigers capitalized on the Bomber mistakes. The Tigers did get in a lot of foul trouble early as the referees were not a fan of any contact at all. That’s where the Tigers lost their momentum a while. When Ballard drove to the basket ADM played very poor defense which opened up a lot of shots for Max Stoltz who went on a hot streak and brought the Bombers within five. ADM had a strong finish before the half and brought the lead back to 11 going into the half 34 to 23.
The second half was all Tigers. Tajen Ross was driving to the basket and pulling up from beyond the arch. Ross finished with 30 points continuing to keep the Tigers in constant attack mode. The Tigers get the Win 70-59 to win three straight and advance to 8-5.
Tuesday the Tigers look to get some revenge on Winterset and against Perry on Friday.
