Cyber Monday: Outrageous Sales and Deals

Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving, began in 2005, when marketing companies saw the increased online involvement of shoppers. Ellen Davis coined the name “Cyber Monday” and it was used to boost sales in the company.

Within recent years, Cyber Monday has increased sales dramatically and sales are said to be even better that Black Friday, according to statistics. Sales increased by 33 million dollars between 2014 and 2015.

Overall, Black Friday begins advertising sometimes by the beginning of October, so that sales get out and draw in more people. But Cyber Monday gets less advertising and has increasing sales. This happens because stores are more likely to tease up for Black Friday than Cyber Monday.

So why do people buy more on Cyber Monday? Well the deals are better, less advertised, and people have less negative associations with Cyber Monday than with Black Friday.
