Some may recognize the name Sadie Robertson from the TV show Duck Dynasty. While she has not only grown up on reality TV, she is also an author, creator of the WHOA That’s Good podcast, and founder of the Ministry “Live Original.” These experiences have shaped her faith to become the author and person she is today.
Throughout this book, she shares many experiences throughout her own life that have led her to be at the feet of Jesus. The personal aspect of her book demonstrates vulnerability to readers which is something I appreciated most about this book. Some of the main themes she discussed were quick to resonate with my own life.
The book is divided into many chapters, and in each chapter she shares a story, and how it connects back to the general theme she discusses in each chapter. She quotes scripture to back up what she says, and it really ties all of the messages together. I enjoyed how she gave biblical examples, as it gave me a real-life scenario to connect it to.
She shares many biblical principles throughout the chapters and draws her points back to scripture. One major takeaway I had from a part of the book was the ability to find joy in simple moments, first by recognizing that every moment is a gift from God. Before even finishing the whole book, the pages left me inspired and filled with hope for the plans that God has for my life.
I would rate this book a 9/10. It gave me a lot of new perspective and it made me optimistic while I was reading it, even now after having finished it. Something that did throw me off however, was some of her language such as saying things like,”ya’ll”, but it did make it personal and unique to her own storytelling style. She has many other books, and I am looking forward to reading more of her work in the future since I enjoyed Live so much. This book would be best fit for anyone since it is very personable, but especially those wanting to grow in their faith with God in simple ways that they can apply to their everyday lives. If you’re looking for an inspiring yet relatable and fun read I would definitely recommend this book.
