When I was planning on taking certain classes, I heard that Journalism was a fun, easy and it gave you DMACC credit if you planned on attending, so I took it. I learned how to show a non-bias perspective, even if you disagree with it. I’ve also learned how to take pictures with our DSLR cameras, which I’ve always wanted to do. I learned this by using the camera in my free time, as well as whenever we did a lesson on them. I’ve even taught myself how to start recording on the cameras. It’s an intricate system on how to do it, and I wish it was easier. I filmed my first coffee review story with the DSLR camera, and we then moved to our phones since it was easier. I’ve learned how to use so much equipment, some more than others, and I want to be able to use these equipment in my free time during my life. I also learned how to use software I never thought I would ever use.
During this year on staff, I realize now more than ever how important news is, and how we need it to know what is going on in the world. I highly recommend to take the class, since it will teach you life lessons, and some fun things. If you ever get the chance to, please do. I learned so much that will carry with me for most of my life. I learned these from peers, educators and friends.
No matter what , this year has been a blast, and I hope to see more stories posted each year. The time I had here was awesome, and I got to meet new people, experience new experiences and enjoy my final year at ADM. I expect to see serious, fun and enjoyable stories that I can laugh, cry and be serious about.
To the staff, thank you for making my time here a fun and enjoyable experience. I’m proud of the achievements from this staff, and hope to see some more award-winning stories in years to come.
