Esports

The ADM Esports team raced into their championship season. The Mario Kart team was seeded fourth in their division going into the championship tournament. The team has been strategizing and planning for the final tournament.
Tate Truitt, a player on the Mario Kart team, said, “ We’re kind of laid back and are unfocused, but as soon as we get back into the season, we hone in all of the skills that we learned previously, along with some new ones that we’ve acquired through practice during the season and have really improved.”
The Mario Kart team placed third in the final tournament. They lost their first match against Waterloo East, then won their next three games against Central DeWitt, Ames, and Nevada.
Golf

The ADM Golf team has been working hard for the postseason. The team has been working hard to improve their skills by going to the driving range or working on their chipping and putting.
“During regular season it was a lot more chill. It didn’t feel like we were so much in a competition compared to the postseason. Now it’s like real, it’s a little bit more serious, and the game’s definitely more intense,” Sara Carolan, a member of the girls’ golf team, said.
The boys’ golf team placed 5th at the 3A IHSAA Golf District at Red Oak. The girls’ golf team also placed fifth at the Class 3A Region 2 meet.
Soccer

The ADM soccer isn’t starting to prepare for the postseason. Instead, they have been preparing all year. The team is preparing for the championship season by continuing to practice and improve.
“ We’ve been practicing a lot, like just game realistic scenarios and kind of focusing on our weaknesses towards the end of the season, just to make sure we can sharpen up and be ready for highest competition,” Cael Orban, a player on the boys’ soccer team, said.
The Championship season for soccer is later than other spring sports. Both the boys and the girls’ soccer teams will head into the finals. The boy’s final tournament will be on June 4-6 at the Mediacom Stadium. The girls will be on June 3, June 5, and June 7 at Iowa State University in Ames.
Track & Field

The ADM track team has been preparing for its postseason for a while. The track postseason is three meets long. The teams compete at a conference meet, a State-qualifier meet, and the State meet.
“What we do, we just wanna make sure we simulate as much of that as possible, and really, if we can make fine little changes or any sort of improvements. Then we wanna make ’em in practice. We feel like practice is certainly gonna make more permanent,” Jesse Hunt, boys’ Track & Field Head Coach, said.
Both the boys and the girls’ track teams finished their seasons strong. The boys and the girls teams won 1st place at both their Conference and State qualifier meets. The boys placed 10th overall for 3A at State. The girls successfully defended their title and placed first overall in 3A again.
