At ADM High School, we have three new teachers on the job this year. Cody Smith, 9th grade science teacher, is one of them.

Cody Smith is teaching Biology the last half of the school day and at the middle school in the mornings.  He taught science at Davenport West High School last year.

Smith has had a long journey getting to ADM. Ever since he was a kid growing up in Waterloo, he wanted to be an archeologist, hoping one day he would be able to dig up Egyptian tomb sites and make amazing discoveries. Pursuing his dreams, he attended Waterloo East High School then graduated, continuing to the University of Northern Iowa. His sophomore year at UNI is when Smith knew he wanted to be a teacher.

“The staff here is great to work with and the students are very respectful,” said Smith.
