Helen Kirk is a senior at ADM High School. Helen is the daughter of Stacey and Ty Kirk. Throughout her high school years, Kirk has earned a 4.0 GPA and has enjoyed classes like AP Chemistry, Calculus, and HBS. She said she enjoyed these specific classes because she loves science and being involved in labs. She also noted that she loves the great atmosphere Mr. Schneider has created over the years.
Kirk has been involved in a variety of activities including student council, National Honors Society, FCA, humanitarian cord, speech, soccer, and volleyball.
She has also spent her time volunteering in the community. She has volunteered at various school events including Kiwanis, Lions Club and Catch Des Moines. When Kirk was asked what advice she had to give others she said, “Be sure to build connections with teachers and the people around you. Try to plan your weeks out ahead of time to limit stress and stay organized.”
Kirk believes she has been nominated for Kiwanis Humanitarian Student of the Month because she has worked hard to become a good student and has put a lot of time into volunteering for her community. Helen plans to attend the University of Missouri in the fall and major in health sciences on the pre-professional track.
In honor of her achievements, the Kiwanis Club of Adel has donated $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
