Coach Wink joins a Zoom meeting on Tuesday afternoon to talk about his football coaching career and his vision for ADM Tiger Football.

I sat down with new ADM head coach Doug Witkowitsch to discuss his coaching styles and his vision for the ADM Tiger Football program.

Q: How would you describe your coaching style?

A: I will coach with calmness and clear expectations. I will empower my assistant coaches to coach their positions and take ownership of the program. I will ask a lot of our players but they will understand the reason behind the expectations.

Q: What about the ADM job interested you?

A: ADM has a solid tradition that I felt we can build upon. I am fortunate to be able to coach in a great school district that is located close to my entire family. I am excited to work with the administration, coaches, and players.

Q: What is your offensive philosophy?

A:  We will run a high-tempo spread offense that will rely on a great run game and quick passing game. We will best utilize our playmakers by making slight adjustments each year to accommodate our athletes. A dual-threat QB will give us the best option for success.

Q: How many years have you been coaching football?

A:  This fall will be my 30th year as a head coach.

Q: What is your favorite moment in football?

A:  A favorite moment would be coaching my three sons.

Q: What does a Coach Wink-led football team look like?

A: We want to be highly respected. We will do the little things the best we can. We will focus on the process of success, not the outcomes. Our football team will be expected to be great role models to the younger players. We will do our best to live by our motto of “Expect Victory.” This motto is about trying to be the best version of ourselves on and off the field.

It was great getting to catch up with Coach Wink before he begins his new job. It looks like the Tigers are being put in great hands.
