Knead Massage Therapy: A Review

I find myself loving many local establishments in Adel, and my experience with Knead Massage Therapy confirmed my fondness for supporting businesses within the community.

I constantly complain about my back hurting, a pulled muscle, and overall discomfort when my body feels knotted. So when I got a massage gift certificate for Christmas, I was undeniably delighted.

Although I love Knead Massage Therapy now, there was some frustration in the booking process. I visited the correct website and started looking for times to book an appointment, but every slot on the website was filled out. Not a single time was open from January to July. I was confused by this so I decided to call the business myself and got an answering machine, so I left a message. The owner, Susan, got back to me almost immediately and found a spot to fit me in when I voiced my concern about using my certificate. I really appreciated this and the customer service she showed me.

A couple of days go by and I get a few reminders about my appointment via email and a medical form to fill out. The form was very self-explanatory and didn’t have you filling out your entire life’s medical history, but rather things you would want her to know (such as previous injuries, sensitive spots, allergies, etc.).

The week-long wait was finally over and on the morning of my massage, I walked into the building and was immediately greeted by a handshake and an introduction from Susan. She then led me into the room where I would be getting the massage and told me to take a seat on a big comfy chair. She sat across from me and talked me through what she would be doing, asked me if I was ticklish anywhere, if there were spots I didn’t want her to touch, and how deep I wanted the massage to be. I felt like she really got to know what I wanted from the experience rather than doing an animatronic massage that is the same for every client.

When we started the massage the room was dark and relaxing with a few candles lit and soft music playing. I was worried I was going to have to engage in small talk and was relieved when I could just relax without the worry of carrying on an aimless conversation. The massage itself was great and she even went a few minutes past the scheduled hour. At the end of the massage, she left me a cold water bottle, a hot towel, and some time to wake myself up a little bit.

I feltĀ fantasticĀ for the rest of the week. If you’re looking to support local but also get out the stressful knots in your body, I 10/10 recomment Knead Massage Therapy.
