Monica Thomas, a senior, is the daughter of Greg Thomas and Leanne Puttman-Thomas. Thomas’ father taught her how to golf, and she has been holding a club since she was 8 years old.

Being recognized as April’s Golfer of the Month is monumental for Monica because it feels like her hard work is paying off.

“When last year’s seniors left, I was scared I wouldn’t be able to fill their shoes. But now I appreciate the role of being one of the only seniors on the team. Setting an example for the underclassman is so important, and I remember how much I appreciated it before it was me,” said Thomas.

When Thomas was asked what she loved most about the sport she replied with, “Community. The team started so small, and it has grown so much since my freshman year. I can’t wait to see how big the team gets once I am gone. Everyone is so encouraging and uplifting, and I have made some of my best friends.”

Due to Monica Thomas’ accomplishments, Azalea Lane Boutique will be donating $100 to the ADM Scholarship Fund.
