Hayley Owen is an ADM senior who has been cheering for 2 years. This January she is being honored as Athlete of the Month for her sport, cheerleading. Owen is a football and wrestling cheerleader who is the daughter of Sara Weckman and Kory Owen.

“The atmosphere of cheer is probably my favorite part of the sport. My team is great and I just gain so much confidence for participating,” said Owen.

Being recognized for Student of the Month means a lot to Owen because she is aware of what an honor it is.

She says, “It makes me feel so special.”

Owen believes her Athlete of the Month honor stems from the immense amount of hard work she has put into the program this past year. Her friendliness made an impression as well, as her connections created within the Cheer community.
