Game Review – Among Us

Game Review - Among Us

“Among Us” – A game of betrayal and team building.

This mobile game has swept across the country becoming one of the most addictive mobile games of 2020. “Among us” was developed by an American game studio, InnerSloth, and was released on June 15th, 2018. This game takes place in a space-themed setting, where from 4 to 10 players take on one of two roles; a Crewmate or an Imposter.

The Crewmate role is assigned to most players in the game. Crewmates on the ship have two jobs; find the Imposters among the crew, and fix problems within the ship. Each Crewmate is tasked with assignments throughout the ship such as, rewire electrical, refueling the engines, or resetting navigations. As the Crewmates fix the ship and are trying to find the Imposters among them, the Imposter’s role is to Kill everyone without getting caught by the rest of the crew. the only way someone can win the game is if the Crewmates find and eject the Imposter(s), or if the Imposter kills everyone until the only people left alive are the Imposters.

Opinion: I have played among us many times and just like everyone else who has played it; it’s addicting. But luckily, unlikely most addicting things, this addiction is easy to escape after a few days of trying. After that, it becomes one of those games you play when you’re bored and have nothing else to do. On the brighter side of this game, an entirely new world of memes and hilarious videos has come from this game.

Unfortunately,  like most trending mobile games, they tend to lose their popularity over time, and now it will join the rest of the apps that had easily trended quickly and then lose popularity almost overnight.
