Dr. Lorna M. Breen

Many news sites have recently published about a woman in New York City who died by suicide last Sunday, April 19th, she was an E.R. doctor who was on the ‘front lines’ helping to fight the Corona Virus.

The Woman’s name was Dr. Lorna Breen, she worked at New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital but died in Virginia. Dr. Breen herself had recovered from the Corona Virus and continued to treat other patients who had it, after her recovery.

Lorna’s father was interviewed after her death and one thing that he had said that really stood out was, “As of Sunday, she took her own life because I think she was tired and she was the kind of person, as somebody has very aptly put it, she was like the fireman who runs into the burning building to save another life and doesn’t regard anything about herself. So she has paid the price and she’s been in the trenches,”(New York Post).

Dr. Lorna Breen will be remembered in New York by her family, friends, colleagues, and patients as the top ER doctor of Manhattan, and a wonderful soul.
