October Student of the Month – Jakob Zwank
Jakob Andrew Zwank is your October Student of the Month. Jakob is a senior, and the son of David and Debra Zwank. Jakob has a 3.65 GPA, and his favorite classes have been choir, band, and Algebra 1. The reasons he enjoys those classes are because the teachers make them enjoyable.
In high school, Jakob has been involved in band, choir, football, cross country, basketball, track, Speech, theatre, and Jazz Choir. From his sports he’s learned to stay positive and help others. From Fine Arts he’s learned how to be a leader; through being a drum major, how to communicate better and adapt to others.
Jakob is also a Boy Scout, and from that he has learned to be prepared for everything. He has also collected his Humanitarian Cord hours from volunteering at his church.
Jakob plans to attend Central College in Pella, or Simpson, to major in Communications.
Jakob is proud to be the Student of the Month, and he thinks it shows that his teachers think he’s a good student and people appreciate his involvement. Jakob’s advice to others is to “Act like you care, even if you don’t, because if you act like you won’t enjoy it, you won’t”.
In honor of his achievements, the Raccoon Valley Bank has donated $100 to the ADM Scholarship Fund.
