All About Passion Conference
Passion is a conference that glorifies God by uniting students in worship, prayer, and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation. Passion has been ongoing since 1995, and is for 18-25 year olds. Passion has a mission – to call students from campuses across the nation and around the world to live for what matters most. This generation is watching God change the way faith is portrayed around the world. They’re bringing hope to the generation, lighting up the world with faith and Holy Spirit.
For Passion 2020, there is one location in Atlanta, Georgia at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium from December 31st 2019-January 2nd 2020. Any high school senior at the time and older will be able to attend. They have multiple different bands each year, and in the past they have had four different locations in different states, so the bands had to fly from location to location to play at the different locations. Passion is well known for not only the amazing music, but the speakers that have different sessions. Some well-known speakers they have had include Louie Giglio, who also happens to be the founder of Passion, Sadie Robertson, Christine Caine, and more. Many people who leave Passion say that it changes their life, in one way or another, and first time attendees got their minds blown.
As first time Passion attenders, not only did we love being able to travel and miss school, we loved being with a good group in such an amazing, safe atmosphere of Jesus followers. It’s always so unbelievable when you get to experience people who were once struggling and lost, become found and give their lives to Christ. Not only does Passion have the ability to change non-Christ followers, but it reminds Christians as well of how much Jesus loves and cares about them. That they have nothing to worry about because God has everything already planned out for our lives and if we just let go we are giving God room to work in our lives.
It was crazy how much we were able to get done in just two days. Over twelve hours a day talking about and praising Jesus. What could be better? Many people that attended this conference were ones that are not regularly found in church. Let’s just say, more than some of those students were transformed completely and we got the opportunity to travel with some of those students. After talking to several of them, they did not want to go to Passion before. They felt that their life was already good enough and they were only going to miss school. Let’s just say, their doubts and concerns about going were quickly gone after the first night. It’s the fact that being in a room with so many Jesus lovers that inspired them and gave them the desire to grow in their faith and make it stronger. They knew they were broken and the only way out of that is through Jesus Christ.
This generation is broken and hurting. We rely on the earthly things that the world says will make us happy but in the end make us more damaged. These earthly things often times causing depression. It’s not in what the world says about us but instead what the Bible and God’s word says about us. Passion has the ability to fill your beautiful minds with positive thoughts about yourself, others, and the rest of the world. This is definitely something you do not want to miss. You are loved. You are beautiful. You are enough.
