November Kiwanis Student of the Month: Spencer Collins
Spencer Collins was nominated as a November Kiwanis Student of the Month. Collins is the son of Rod and Ann Collins. He maintains a 3.9 GPA while participating in football, baseball, NHS, 4H and FFA. He says his activities have taught him to value responsibility.
Collins’ favorite classes throughout his high school career have been math and agriculture. He said he likes working with numbers, and he’s very passionate about agriculture. Collins plans to take his love of agriculture with him to Iowa State University, where he’ll major in ag business and minor in agronomy.
Collins volunteers regularly as a participant in the Humanitarian Cord. He regularly volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House with 4H to clean and prepare meals for the residents.
Collins advises his peers to “be humble about success.” He said that being Kiwanis Student of the Month means “peers and members of the community notice what I’m doing.” He believes he’s being honored for the respect he’s earned.
In recognition of Collins’ achievement, Kiwanis of Adel is donating $50 to the ADM Scholarship Foundation.
